Jason Flick: Co-founder and CEO
Jason Flick is Co-founder and President of YOUi Labs, a successful serial entrepreneur, and the product visionary in the company. Jason brings 18 years of technical and business leadership to the role of President. His most recent success was Flick Software, a mobile solutions and products venture whose customers included Intel, Rogers Wireless, U.S. military, and Sybase. Prior to founding Flick Software in 2002, he was co-founder and CTO at N-able Technologies, where he architected one of the most scalable IT systems in the world, built and managed the engineering team. Prior to N-able Technologies, Jason was Director, Systems Integration with Eftia, a leading OSS vendor, where he owned a $23M P&L business unit. His other roles and adventures have included COO, Canadian Health Systems and Vice President Engineering, TouchNet.
Stuart Russell: Co-founder and CTO
A brilliant Software Innovator and co-founder, Stuart brings over 20 years of rocket science experience and product development success in embedded software development on an incomparable variety of platforms. He has pushed the outside edge of the performance envelope in mobile UI engine design for most of his career, having delivered bleeding-edge applications on leading hardware and OS platforms, including BREW, J2ME, Symbian, WinCE/Mo, Linux, and BlackBerry.
Francis Moran: CMO
With nearly 30 years experience as a communications consultant, reporter and editor, Francis is an insightful marketing and public relations strategist, an expert writer and a seasoned veteran of the specific challenges of helping technology companies engage with their marketplace and those who influence it.
Luc Duquette: CFO
A Chartered Accountant with over 19 years of experience in accounting, finance and administration. His work experience in senior financial roles in the high technology and construction industries has provided him with the skills to operate and perform in fast paced, growing and ever changing environments. Mr. Duquette holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, with a specialty in accounting, from the University of Quebec. He is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants since 1988.
Andrew Emmons: Vice President, R&D
Andrew brings experience in releasing high-performance, high-quality software on a wide range of embedded devices. Most recently, he was Director of Engineering for the BitFlash division of Quickoffice. During his seven+ years at BitFlash, he was a key player in bringing SVG to constrained devices-from the world’s first SVGT player on a feature phone to an eventual distribution of more than 300 million units. BitFlash clients include Qualcomm, Samsung, Symbian UIQ, Nokia S40, ARM, Sharp, and Garmin. During this time, he was also a leader in the W3C open standards community and is currently co-chair of the SVG Working Group. Prior to joining BitFlash, Andrew was Lead Programmer for five years at Sir-Tech Canada, a critically acclaimed PC game development company.
Don Liberty: Vice President, Business Development
A successful sales and business development professional with over 13 years working with graphic technologies. 10 years specializing in consumer electronics and mobile phone markets. As General Manager of the BitFlash business unit of Quickoffice inc., Don oversaw all technology and business decisions and directly managed customer accounts including ARM, Qualcomm, Nokia and Samsung. Through his leadership, the BitFlash SVGT player was embedded into 490 Million devices worldwide to date.
